I rule out any pressure on deputy of the My Step faction Edgar Arakelyan. This is what head of the My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Lilit Makunts told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Edgar Arakelyan commented on that, and there is nothing to add. As far as pressure is concerned, I rule it out. He presented the reasons for putting down his mandate and particularly said there are certain attributes that a person has to have in order to be involved in politics, but he didn’t elaborate on that,” she said.

Makunts said she has met with the already former MP, who didn’t add anything to what he had already said. Makunts added that this is a normal process.

On August 29, MP Edgar Arakelyan announced that he was putting down his mandate.

“I have only personal reasons for my decision. A person in politics has to have the qualities that are required for being in politics. I strongly believe I lack some of the major qualities, and this makes me incompatible with the job of a politician,” Edgar Arakelyan had written on his Facebook page.
