YEREVAN. – A protest is being held at No. 1 Nursing Home of Yerevan.

The reason is that the government of Armenia has put into internal circulation a program of merging nursing homes, by which the aforesaid nursing home and Nork Nursing Home shall merge.

One of the residents of the No. 1 Nursing Home stated that they had heard that the building of the Nork Nursing Home had been sold, and therefore that the elderly there were being moved to No. 1 Nursing Home. "We are against it because since we are two people in one room now, they shall make it 3-4 people. (…). We are human beings, we have rights. (…). We demand from the director to verify, confirm the information that the Nork Nursing Home building has been sold, or say where the elderly are being taken; perhaps they are not brought here," she said.
