The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Foreign Ministers’ Council adopted a statement on cooperation with NATO, Yerzhan Kazykhanov, the FM of Kazakhstan, announced along the lines of the Council’s extended session on Friday.     

In his words, during the discussions the participants examined the external security threat, as well as the collective measures and mutual assistance to the allies in the case of political and economic pressures, RIA Novosti News Agency reports.  

Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian likewise is attending the CSTO FMs’ Council session, which is being held in the Kazakh capital Astana.

Aside from Armenia, the CSTO also includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
