The police officer, the prosecutor, and the law enforcement agency representative are not the subordinates of the Republican Party, Armenia’s President and leader of the ruling coalition’s senior member—the Republican Party of Armenia—Serzh Sargsyan said Wednesday, when meeting with the voters in Hrazdan city and along the lines of campaigning for the country’s National Assembly elections on Sunday.

“They all are the servants of the people of Armenia. The men in uniform and the weapon serve the people, and not the interests of a small circle.  

The [political] parties in power will come and go, but these agencies will be the institutions that protect our tranquility.  

These agencies must never be depended on the parties’ whim,” the RPA Chairman said and added: “These agencies must also protect yesterday’s ruling parties which became opposition on the next day.”
