YEREVAN. – There is progress in terms of National Assembly election campaign coverage, but the situation has remained the same with respect to the authorities’ usage of administrative resources. Chairman Stepan Demirchyan of the People’s Party of Armenia (PPA)—which is in the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC)—said this during a press conference on Friday.

Also, Demirchyan positively assessed the ANC’s campaign, and at the same time noted that the people are rather more passive during parliamentary elections, because everyone places their hopes on presidential elections.   

As per the PPA leader, in case of somewhat fair elections, the ANC will have a significant presence in parliament.
