YEREVAN. – Crayfish is the only food staff that Armenia is exporting to the EU, head of the State Food Security Service at the Ministry of Agriculture Abram Bakhchagulyan told the journalists on Friday.

According to him, the laboratory estimation on food safety criteria meets the European standards.

The Armenian Ministry of Nature Protection gave a permission to fish 1000 tons of crayfish last year, while 800 tons this year.

The official also reminded that within the frameworks of developing food industry strategy, fish, fruits, vegetables and honey are among priorities of exporting to the EU. As a result, starting from June 1 a monitoring will be held to present results to the EU food safety body.
