YEREVAN. – Famous Armenian actor and comedian Hayk Maroutyan (“Cool Hayko”) and Russian-Armenian businessman Artak Gasparyan organized a mobile buffet with free food for 200 families who live in Yerevan city, Armenian News-NEWS.am informs.

On Saturday, Hayk Maroutyan with his friends and family distributed free food from the mobile buffet in front of Kanaker Culture Palace of Armenian capital.

“One day in Moscow we were talking with Artak [Gasparyan] about Armenia, about families living in difficult social conditions and decided that we should act rather than talk. Thus, we decided to open a mobile buffet, which will help some of our fellow citizens to solve the food problem,” Hayk Maroutyan said.

The mobile buffet operates on Saturdays and Sundays, and the menu always includes new dishes; today it was pasta, cabbage and carrot salad, and meatball sauce. Famous Armenian comedian distributed dishes by himself, joking and wishing citizens “bon appetite.”

“We provide fresh and delicious food prepared by an experienced chef; all dishes are freshly prepared and brought on site while they are still hot,” Hayk Maroutyan added. “We have chosen families, who really need our help.”

The project started in January 2014 and will run for a year.

“This is funded with our own money, we do not pursue political or any other benefit, our sole goal is to show that it is time to act,” the actor said.
