KYIV. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed an unwavering complaint in connection with the Russian Federation (RF) MFA statement on recognizing the “Declaration of Independence of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol” as lawful.       

The Ukraine MFA press service informed the aforesaid.

The Ukrainian foreign ministry’s respective statement stressed that the Crimea Verkhovna Rada’s (Supreme Council; parliament) aforementioned decision is unconstitutional, unlawful, and legally zero.

“Ukraine strongly condemns the RF’s direct interference in the affairs of our state. Russia’s actions run contrary to the international law and the universally accepted principles of the coexistence of states,” the statement reads, in particular.

It is also noted that the RF chargé d’affaires in Ukraine was called to the Ukrainian MFA to obtain necessary explanations.
