The information that Armenia is a transit country for arm supply to Hezbollah is ridiculous and groundless, Tigran Balayan, Press Secretary of the RA Foreign Office, told NEWS.am commenting on the report by the Italian Corriere della sera. He calls this information “mere nonsense and mean provocation.” According to Balayan, the international community has always appreciated Armenia’s efforts to struggle against terrorism.

The Italian daily reported that the Tehran-Yerevan plane crashed because of a blast in the cargo compartment, which contained the arms intended for Hezbollah.

Newspaper informs was a large number of detonators with 2 kg of explosive. The arms intended for Hezbollah were to be transported through Armenia and Turkey to Syria and further to Lebanon.
