Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated in the meeting of the FMs of the European Union (EU) and Eastern Partnership countries.

Addressing the event, which was held in Brussels on Tuesday, Nalbandian noted that Armenia wants to develop a partnership with the EU. He added that the EU’s assistance and support play a significant role in the implementation of reforms, and the strengthening of democracy and institutional capacity in Armenia.

Armenia’s FM also stressed that the agenda of Armenia-EU cooperation comprises numerous domains, and noted that his country wishes to commence the discourse on lifting the EU visa system.

In terms of regional cooperation, Nalbandian highlighted that since Turkey continues to keep its border closed with Armenia, it hinders the normalization of bilateral relations and the use of EU-Armenia communication and transport routes.
