YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Saturday received a delegation led by Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament) member and Seimas’ Lithuania-Artsakh (i.e., Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR)) friendship group head, Dalia Kuodytė.   

The President stated that Armenian-Lithuanian relations are developing dynamically, informed the Press Office of the President. Both sides stressed the importance of interparliamentary relations in terms of continued strengthening of Armenian-Lithuanian ties. 

Sargsyan also thanked the Lithuanian MPs who, aside from setting up a Lithuania-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, have also established a Lithuania-Artsakh friendship group which, as per the President, is extremely important. In his words, this fact also bespeaks the Lithuanian people’s commitment to democratic values.

In turn, Kuodytė stressed that it is important for the Lithuanian body politic to know the whole truth about Nagorno-Karabakh and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and therefore the setting up of the aforesaid friendship group and the visits to NKR are aimed at this objective, and also to assist the dialogue between the parties to the conflict.

At the request of guests, Serzh Sargsyan also presented Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and the country’s positions on several matters. 

In addition, the interlocutors exchanged views on regional and current international issues.
