An outbreak of an African plague epidemic was registered in Qashatagh region in Nagorno-Karabakh, Tigran Arustamyan, the head of the department of veterinary medicine and cattle breeding of NKR Ministry of Agriculture, told NEWS.am.

The plague broke out in Sardarapat and Drakhtadzor communities. According to Arustamyan adeuqate measures are taken in these regions. All the infected animals were slaughtered.

Similar outbreak of the African plague was last registered in Shushi in March 2010.
