YEREVAN. – Armenia has always been skeptical about attempts to edit history, and these attempts are idle and even dangerous, chief of staff of the Armenian president Vigen Sargsyan said.

He commented on Turkish leader's initiative to mark April 24 as the day of Gallipoli Battle.

“We will tell our colleagues that we consider inappropriate to participate in any celebrations on the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. But if representatives of some countries head to Turkey, taking into account their national interests, we should not link our events to this,” said Sargsyan, coordinator of the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial.

The Armenian people, he added, honor memory of victims not to show something.

“If someone is standing next to us, we appreciate it, if you would rather be somewhere else, we will make conclusions,” the official resumed.
