YEREVAN. - Armenian banking system lacks targeted loans, MP from Prosperous Armenia faction Michael Melkumyan said in the Parliament on Thursday.
The lack of a precise connection of credits with deposits in bank portfolios releases from many risks, but to a certain degree it binds the activity in economy, both on the part of deposits and credits, Melkumyan said.
For this very reason, although during the last 5 years the money stocking in Armenia’s GDP has grown from 24,5 to 39 per cent, this hasn’t turned into an impetus for the financial sector, Melkumyan concluded.
