The European Union (EU) considers the possibility of stepping up security policy support to Ukraine, Evropeyskaya Pravda reports, citing Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson for Federica Mogherini, the EU High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

According to her, in the middle of May, an EU assessment mission in Ukraine worked on the analysis of situation in Donbass.

“While in Ukraine, the mission visited different representatives in Kiev, including key ministers of Verkhovna Rada. They have exchanged detailed views on wider options they would see as useful in terms of possible enhanced support (Gazeta.ru),” Kocijancic said.

She refrained from specifying whether the support will be of financial or consultation type.
