YEREVAN. – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to place Armenian dram (AMD) bonds.

Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Arthur Javadyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Javadyan noted that the local banks can use these funds to provide loans.

The EBRD has placed AMD bonds, twice before.

The European bank also plans to take other measures to invigorate Armenia’s financial market, especially toward purchasing the new issues of corporate bonds.

“We [i.e. Armenia] are in talks with the EBRD for already three years, which [i.e. the EBRD] has developed a clear plan to apply new financial tools,” stated the CBA boss.
