Russia is suspending the visa-free regime with Turkey since 1 January 2016, Russia’s FM Sergey Lavrov stated, RIA Novosti reports.

“The Russian leadership has decided to suspend the visa-free regime, which is now available between Russia and Turkey. This decision will come into force on January 1 of the next year,” Lavrov said.

He also noted that “this isn’t a phony threat. “In contrast, these threats are indeed real, and we inform about this with all responsibility,” the FM said.
