YEREVAN. – The ninth Influenza A (H1N1)-, or swine flu-, related death was recorded Wednesday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the said victim was Rafik Vardanyan, 50, who had been receiving extended treatment at the hospital.

“He was diagnosed with the H1N1,” they said. “He was connected to an artificial respiration apparatus.” 

The Ministry of Health maintains that the situation is improving and there is no outbreak of swine flu in Armenia.
