YEREVAN. – A number of roads in Armenia are either closed for traffic or difficult to drive as of Saturday 9am, informed the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.

The Sotk-Karvachar highway is closed for traffic.

There is black ice on some parts of several roads in Kotayk and Syunik Provinces.

A section of the Areni-Khachik motorway in Vayots Dzor Province is open solely for one-way traffic.

The road crews are scattering salt and sand on the motorways and are also cleaning them to ensure safe travel.

The Ministry advises drivers to travel on these roads only when absolutely necessary, and with winter tires on their vehicles.

The Ministry divisions on duty are carrying out their services in enhanced mode.

And according to the information received from the Emergency Situations Department of Georgia, the country’s Stepantsminda-Larsi Highway, which leads to the Armenian border, is open only for passenger vehicles with chained wheels.
