The first cruise in 50 years departs from the US to Cuba, reports Channel News Asia. The cruise Adonia owned by Carnival Corporation is anchored in Miami and will sail on Monday, on May 2 at 15:30 ( 22:30 MSK ) with 700 passengers on board , reports Lenta. This cruise will be the first in a series of expected cruises aimed at promoting the cultural exchange between the two countries. There will be two cruises held  per month.

The tickets will cost from 1800 to 7000 dollars per person . The cruises holds cultural activities in the ports of call -- in Havana, Cienfuegos, and Santiago de Cuba – including meetings with artists , musicians, and business owners , as well as dance classes and excursions . Last week the Cuban government lifted bans on sea communication of Cuba with the US. The regular tourism to Cuba in the United States is still under a ban, except for trips related to culture , science, sports, and religion . Regular flights from the US to Cuba are expected to begin at the end of the year.
