U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry spoke via phone with Republic of Croatia Foreign Minister Miro Kovac. Today. They discussed the challenges facing Europe, including energy security, the press service of the State Department stated.

 “The Secretary underscored U.S. commitment to work with Croatia on regional stability and exchanged views with Foreign Minister Kovac on Croatia's future as a regional energy hub. They agreed to meet in the near future”, the statement says.

Special Envoy, Bureau of Energy Resources Amos J Hochstein stated that this is not a commercial, but a political project. John Kerry expressed opinion that construction of the Nord Stream -2 gas pipeline will have a negative impact on countries of Eastern Europe.
