The Russian government does not hurry to open the market of Russia for Turkey, since supporting the Russian farmers is of primary concern, said the Russian Minister of Agriculture  Alexander Tkachev , reports the TASS.

We do not hurry to open our food markets. The reasons is clear - we must , above all, support our producers. Yesterday, the Prime Minister said very clearly that there is no such an issue " , said the minister .

At the same time, Tkachev supported the decision about resuming the flow of tourists from Russia to Turkey .

"Yes, we opened a niche for the ( Turkish ) resorts, and it is probably objective. Turkey is very close and is understandable for our visitors. It also has long summers, "said Tkachev . On January 1 of 2016 Russia banned import of a list of agricultural products from Turkey (including strawberries , oranges , mandarins , grapes, apples , pears , apricots , peaches, nectarines , plums , and some vegetables).
