Former police officer Ramazan Yudzhel was arrested in Turkey on suspicion of involvement in the murder of the Russian ambassador to Ankara, Andrei Karlov, Anadolu agency reports.

He is suspected of having links to the movement of Fethullah Gulen, whom the Ankara authorities accuse of all possible sins, including the organization of a coup attempt last July. The prosecutor's office of Ankara accused Yudzhel of involvement in Karlov’s murder.

Russian ambassador Andrei Karlov was killed in December 2016. He was shot by a former police officer Mevlut Altintas, who was shot dead by the security forces. Earlier, four people, including two former police officers and head of the publishing group Guru Medya -  Hayreddin Aydinbash, were detained as suspects in case.
