YEREVAN. – Rail transit from Iran via Armenia will be more advantageous than via Azerbaijan.
The Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technology of Armenia, Vahan Martirosyan, noted the abovementioned at Monday’s National Assembly committees’ debates on the draft of the 2017 State Budget.
Martirosyan said, however, we need to admit that railway construction by way of budgetary funds of the country is unrealistic. Thus, respective discussions are underway with foreign investors.
“The route through the territory of Armenia may be economically more appealing than through the territory of Azerbaijan,” stated the minister.
