YEREVAN. - Industry, trade and business sphere of Armenia can maximally benefit if the country becomes a transit point between Iran and Eurasian Union.
Chair of Iranian Studies at the Yerevan State University (YSU), professor Garnik Asatryan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.
The expert found it difficult to answer whether this issue will be discussed during the upcoming visit of the Iranian President to Iran, noting that such prospect is important for both sides. ''It is important to consider that Iran can alternatively enter the EAEU via the Caspian Sea, but if Armenia becomes a transit point, this may yield colossal results for the latter,'' Asatryan said.
In his opinion, Iran is very interested in cooperating with EAEU and as a result of literate politics Yerevan can greatly benefit from that.
President of Iran Hassan Rouhani will pay an official visit to Armenia in late December.
