Narek Nadzharyan, an Armenian resident of Los Angeles, described his quick decision to use his truck to help end a police pursuit in Tujunga on Tuesday.

The wild chase began at about 10 p.m. in the San Fernando Valley when officers with the Los Angeles Police Department attempted to pull over a man suspected of driving under the influence, according to ABC7 TV.

The suspect fled, making his way up to the foothills of La Crescenta, even clipping a bicyclist and losing a back tire during the chase.

Sparks flew as he continued to flee from officers, reaching high speeds on several occasions.

The suspect made his way to the Tujunga area and onto a very narrow residential street.

That is where the pickup driver saw what was happening and said he felt the need to do something.

“So I just decided to reverse back and then I saw that he was kind of stuck so I decided to just trap him and then get out and start running,” Nadzharyan explained.

Police normally advise residents to stay out of the way and not attempt to help during a chase.

Luckily nobody was injured during the chase and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
