YEREVAN. – The transport ministry of Armenia seeks to rule out unlawful “fundraising” from Armenian drivers in Russia.

Several days ago, the minister himself visited the Upper Lars Russian checkpoint on the border with Georgia.

“I raised this matter also before the Upper Lars customs service; they assured that there is no such thing,” said Martirosyan. “But our drivers argue that, in any case, they are taking money from them, from time to time.”

The Armenian ministry certainly cannot establish order on the Russian roads, on its own. But, as per the minister, everything possible is done at the level of state ties.

“I raised this matter also before the Russian associates,” added Vahan Martirosyan.
