YEREVAN. - The condition of contract soldier Garik Vardanyan, who was wounded in Artsakh on December 31, continues to remain extremely critical.

Spokesman for the Armenian Defense Ministry, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

Garik Vardanyan is in the Central Clinical Military Hospital of the Armenian Defense Ministry. The contract soldier is in a coma.

On December 31, the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire regime in the northeastern direction of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani contact line. Consequently contract soldier of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army Garik Vardanyan sustained a firearm wound. A few hours later he was transported from Stepanakert hospital to Yerevan by chopper.
