YEREVAN. - The Armenian branch of Friedrich Ebert Foundation on Tuesday presented the results of the research “Generation of Independence: Research Among Young People.”

The research was carried out in cooperation with Department of Sociology of the Yerevan State University (YSU). The target group of the research included 14-29-year-old young people, who grew up in independent Armenia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The research shows the Soviet legacy on the one hand, and the generation of the future development of the Armenian society on the other.

It also reveals the concerns, strivings, values and lifestyle of the Armenian youth.

According to the event speaker, Julia Bläsius, who is the Director of the FES South Caucasus Office, it is exactly the young generation which should implement, support and promote the positive changes in the country, understanding the existing key problems.

She also noted that it is characteristic that the publication of this research took place prior to the elections, this inspiring hope.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Karine Harutyunyan, also attended the meeting. She underscored the importance of the research in terms of the further strategic work of the Ministry.
