YEREVAN. - The biggest problem of those wishing to launch a startup is the need of objective assessment, the project manager of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) Mari Barseghyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am on the sidelines of Startup Europe Week Yerevan.

According to her, everyone knows what is needed for a successful startup: a good idea, gifted team and startup capital.

Barseghyan noted that oftentimes young people full of enthusiasm come to them with interesting ideas, but the problem is that they don’t analyze the market, as well as the demand and originality of their product thoroughly enough. This not even an outright plagiarism, since many startuppers are often unaware that that their idea already exists somewhere. According to her, during the presentation of new investment programs to EIF, it is important to stay up to date: New ideas having no analogues are welcomed.

Barseghyan also added that the EIF has announced about the launch of cooperation with Dutch accelerator and incubator CrossSpring. The program will include projects related to such spheres as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, as well as virtual and augmented reality  (VR, AR).

Startup Europe Week is held every year in over 300 cities of 40 countries. The main objective of the initiative is to unite all the European regions and allow the entrepreneurs become part of this ecosystem. As a rule, such meetings are held in the format adopted in the Silicon Valley (speeches, discussions, exchange of experience and networks).

However, the approach to business is different in Europe: there the regional and political peculiarities have a great significance in the formation of start-ups. For this very reason such conferences are useful for entrepreneurs, since they help the latter get familiarized with the market players, directing them towards success and reception of investments.
