YEREVAN. - Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, on Friday received the US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills, military attaché of the Embassy, Colonel Bruce Murphy and  responsible for bilateral affairs of the US Embassy in Armenia, Major Don Harper.

Congratulating the minister on his appointment, the Ambassador noted that the US Embassy is proud of the close cooperation with the ministry. He also expressed readiness to continue supporting the ministry, if needed.  According to Mills, the achievements they have had are the result of the efficient and successful cooperation between the ministry and the embassy. 

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the deepening of the Armenian-American cooperation in the spheres of emergency situations, preparedness and resistance, as well as the intensification of regional cooperation through trainings, in particular within the framework of partnership with the State of Kansas.

The possibility of introducing the U.S. experience in the spheres of work with dangerous agents, firefighting, implementation of rescue operations and medical preparation through trainings and teaching was discussed. Each course will be completed by a final training.
