The information, according to which military equipment was transferred from Russia to Armenia via Georgia, does not correspond to reality, reads a Georgian Ministry of Defense statement, according to Sputnik Georgia.

Nugzar Tsiklauri, a leader of the former ruling United National Movement party of Georgia, on Wednesday stated that they had observed several trucks with Russian license plates in Bolnisi town, in the Kvemo Kartli region of the country. In his words, these trucks were probably carrying the Buk self-propelled zenith-missile system, and heading from Russia to Armenia.

“It is civilian, and not military, equipment,” the Georgian MOD statement also reads. “The Ministry of Defense gives permission for the transit of military products; however, such permission was not given in this case.”
