We must never forget the dark chapter of human history, destiny of millions of people who became the victims of the slave trade, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres told a General Assembly meeting to commemorate the abolition of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade, ahead of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, UN reported.

Heeding the lessons of yesterday means fighting these ills today,” António Guterres said.
