The reason why Ohanyan-Raffi-Oskanian (ORO) Bloc lost is the absence of democratic election, as well as the results of rigged Constitutional referendum, Leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian told journalists on Sunday.

Asked whether ORO analyzed why it lost in the parliamentary election, Hovannisian said: ''First of all, we have no democratic election procedure. Second, the new Electoral Code was introduced on the basis of rigged constitutional referendum so that two adversaries cannot come against each other like in 2013, when the system was shaken. This leadership got afraid of losing the power, and thus it rigged the referendum and the recent election.

Our bloc became a target. I also think that our bloc introduced an innovative approach: I have been in the oppositional field long ago, General Ohanyan has only recently joined us, and Minister Oskanian appeared in this field a few years ago. I think the people had no time to digest what model this is. I think this was an innovative model, and that these people, who used to be state officials…I waited for them in the square as early as four years ago, but they joined the people behind time. They realized that there was a big state mistake and that any state official should have a chance to serve his nation after resignation,” he noted.

To the question as to whether people perceived Seyran Ohanyan as an opposition figure, the leader of Heritage Party noted that he cannot speak on behalf of the people but can say that “we had no election.”
