YEREVAN. – Armenia’s state budget received about €27.5 million from EU in 2016, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Кocharyan told reporters in the parliament on Thursday.

According to him, not only technical assistance, but also the political agenda was active: negotiations on Armenia-EU framework agreement were underway and they finished at the beginning of 2017. During 2016, a number of European high-level delegations, including EU foreign policy Chief Federica Mogherini, visited Yerevan.

In January, 2017, Armenia participated in the COSME – European program for the competitiveness of enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises. Armenia is also a participant of EU's research and innovation funding programme Horizon 2020.

Finally, in early 2017, Yerevan and Brussels began negotiations on a common aviation area.

“Negotiations are quite successful,” Kocharyan added.
