YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia has offered Iran its assistance in the earthquake recovery efforts, ministry spokesperson Nana Gndoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The Armenian urban search and rescue team is brought to high readiness,” she noted. “This team has INSARAG international qualification being issued under the auspices of the UN, [and] with which, by the way, the Armenian team is the only one in the region. The team includes 47 to 50 people.

“We are waiting for a response from the Iranian side. If a response is received from them that help is needed, the team will leave for Iran at once to provide help.”
