YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia has offered Iran its assistance in the earthquake recovery efforts, ministry spokesperson Nana Gndoyan told Armenian

“The Armenian urban search and rescue team is brought to high readiness,” she noted. “This team has INSARAG international qualification being issued under the auspices of the UN, [and] with which, by the way, the Armenian team is the only one in the region. The team includes 47 to 50 people.

“We are waiting for a response from the Iranian side. If a response is received from them that help is needed, the team will leave for Iran at once to provide help.”
