The Herald newspaper of Zimbabwe has informed that the country’s ruling party, the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU–PF), has called for First Lady Grace Mugabe to resign from her post in this political force, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

Also, Mugabe was asked to leave the party, at the meeting of the ZANU-PF provincial structures.

In addition, the provinces demanded the reinstatement of ousted former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, whom they said was dismissed without endorsement of the party central committee.

Earlier, the ZANU-PF had called on President Robert Mugabe to step down.

The military has taken the TV tower and the presidential residence in capital city Harare under its control.

President Mugabe had stated that he is kept under house arrest.
