YEREVAN. – Overall, $100-150 million will be invested in Meghri Free Economic Zone, deputy minister of economic development Suren Karayan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

A territory of 2.5 hectares will be operated, while the second phase is about to start tomorrow.

“It is planned to expand the territory, it will make 70 hectares. According to our forecasts, it is planned to attract from 50 to 70 companies in the coming years, investments will amount to 100-150 million dollars, and about 1,500 new jobs will be created,” Karayan said, adding that the creation of free economic zone is aimed at developing Armenian-Iranian economic relations.
