Security force officers of Lebanon detained a suspect in the murder of an employee of the British Embassy Rebecca Dykes, Reuters reported citing a source in the security service.

The suspect is a Lebanese taxi driver.

The source said that, according to preliminary data, the motive for the murder was purely criminal, not political.

Earlier it was reported that Dykes body was found on the roadside. The media reported that the woman was strangled.
