YEREVAN. – Inflation in Armenia was registered at 2.6 percent, said Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan during the government hour in the Armenian parliament on Wednesday.

According to Karen Karapetyan, inflation in Georgia over the same period was 6.7 percent, whereas i Azerbaijan - 7.9 percent.

“As to the rise in price of compressed gas, diesel fuel and gasoline, the price of petrol has risen by 20 drams, the actual cost is 430 drams, while in Georgia the petrol is much more expensive, and we receive t through this country,” the prime minister said, adding that people using petrol can use gas if necessary.

Compressed gas increased by 25 drams, up to 190 - 220 drams as it was in 2015, noted Karapetyan.

“An excise tax on diesel fuel was reduced, we apply only VAT. And diesel fuel is imported to Armenia under the old excise tax,” Karen Karapetyan concluded.
