YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Monday met with the director of Russian federal intelligence service Sergey Naryshkin.

Sargsyan noted the importance of close cooperation between the special services of the two allied states, stressing that new opportunities and new challenges arise in the rapidly changing modern world.  There is a need for information exchange, assessment of the situation, constant active interaction between special services, the Armenian leader said.

Sargsyan noted with satisfaction that the Armenian-Russian allied relations are dynamically developing. He expressed hope that Naryshkin’s visit would bring a new momentum to the strengthening of cooperation with Armenian colleagues.

In his turn, Sergey Naryshkin pointed to partner relations at all levels, including between the special services. He assured that the cooperation of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia and the National Security Service of Armenia is at the proper level. Naryshkin briefed the president on cooperation between the two structures, as well as further programs.
