Sokolov, who is the co-chair of this commission—together with Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, thanked the latter for his constructive assessment of the work that was carried out within the framework of this intergovernmental commission.

“Bilateral trade has reached a record level in the history of our cooperation—to more than 1 billion 700 million US dollars,” stressed the Russian official. “It’s pleasing that the amount of Armenian products’ supply to the Russian market is also increasing at a great pace.

“We link this not solely to the sustainable development of our—Russia and Armenia’s—economies, but also to the deepening of integration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union [which comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan].”
