YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Tuesday hosted members of the Supreme Spiritual Council (SSC), the supreme governing body of the Armenian Apostolic Church, who are attending the SSC meeting being convened from Tuesday to Friday, at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

The President stressed the importance of the SSC decisions, not solely in church and spiritual, but also in public life, press office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. He added that a Constitution of the Armenian Church should be drawn up.

Sargsyan and the SSC meeting participants discussed national matters, and the President responded to the SSC members’ queries.

And on behalf of the SSC, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II briefed President Sargsyan on the issues to be conferred on at this first SSC meeting being held in the current year.
