Education, taxation and customs, Internet access and Armenian-language e-content will be the focus of IT development this year, Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the IT Promotion Council, told NEWS.am.

The Council keeps track of the implementation of the Government’s IT development programs and introduces its own initiatives.

“We should first pay attention to taxation and customs. In many cases some laws fail to be applied, whereas, if properly applied, they can facilitate IT development,” Grigoryan said.

According to him, IT-education and training of specialists will be the focus this year. “We need professionals. The concept provides for the training of about 10,000 specialists during the next few years,” Grigoryan said.
