YEREVAN. – Politics is a team process, everyone votes for the team, and everyone is in the team.

Armenia’s well-known comedian and actor Hayk Marutyan, who is also My Step bloc’s mayoral candidate in Sunday’s snap election for the capital city Yerevan Council of Elders, told the abovementioned to reporters, after casting his ballot in the election. He noted this commenting on the query as to by voting for him, whether Yerevan residents were actually voting for him, or for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

And when asked whether the PM’s considerable involvement in the election campaign of the My Step bloc was a use of administrative resources, Marutyan responded: “I don’t believe so at all. The prime minister is a member of the Civil Contract Party [which is part of the My Step bloc] board, and [therefore] has the right to participate in the entire [election] campaign process.”
