YEREVAN. – One of our key tasks is the development of the military-industrial complex; we need to be able to ensure a substantial development in this domain.

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated the aforesaid at the start of Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Government of Armenia.

“I link the resolving of this matter to our vision of making Armenia a technological country, as well as to the development of the engineering and technical, scientific mind in Armenia,” he added. “This is of course among the next most important things to do.”

As per Pashinyan, the next key task is increasing the combat-readiness of the Armenian Armed Forces.

“Over the next five years, we need to be able to invest about $2.5 billion for the objective of the development of the Armed Forces,” the acting PM stressed. “We have to do serious work toward finding those [monetary] means. Part of those means should be aimed at improving the social condition of the military servicemen.”
