Russia called on China to take part in negotiations on the fate of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), which the United States is going to withdraw, Lenta.ru quoting Nikkei.

In October Moscow offered Beijing to take part in the discussion of a nuclear deal. In China, apparently, the idea was not rejected.

Putin may have touched upon China’s participation during a conversation with US President Donald Trump in Buenos Aires on December 1, a source close to the Russian government said.

Earlier, on December 15, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konoshenkov, said that several days before the head of the Pentagon had been conveyed the official proposal of Sergey Shoigu to discuss the existing differences on the INF Treaty, but no reaction followed.
