Results of the parliamentary elections will not be contested at the Constitutional Court (CC) for the first time, Armenia’s Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on Facebook.

“The [respective] calculation starting point is the year 1996, when the Constitutional Court was established,” Pashinyan added. “Subsequently, the results of all NA [National Assembly] elections have been contested at the CC. [But] the 2018 snap parliamentary elections are the only exception.”

The snap NA election in Armenia was conducted on December 9. As a result, Pashinyan-led My Step Alliance received more than 70 percent of the votes.

The Prosperous Armenia Party and the Bright Armenia Party also have won seats in the next legislature of the country.
