YEREVAN. – There are no results of the meeting between the Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev, Pashinyan said during the briefing after the meeting of the Eurasian Commission board.

“There are no results. Neither Aliyev, nor I expected any results. We were just speaking, and we discussed Karabakh, of course. But, these were not formal talks, we were just speaking about our perception of this problem, and about how we personally perceive this problem, how our nations do,” Pashinyan said when asked about the Davos meeting.

Asked whether surrendering of territories and the return of Stepanakert to negotiation table was discussed, Pashinyan noted that the entire conversation was within the framework of public statements.

“I have voiced my public statements and positions. I said I am representing Armenia, not Artsakh, because the citizens of Artsakh are not participating in the elections in Armenia and did not elect me. They have their own government, own president. That’s why I cannot hold talks on behalf of Artsakh, I can hold talks on behalf of Armenia,” Pashinyan said, adding that he cannot disclose the details of discussion because of ethics.

Speaking about the official talks with Aliyev, he noted that the two foreign ministers are holding talks, but there are no precise results yet.
