YEREVAN. – There shall be an as capable as possible and as strong as possible anticorruption agency in Armenia, stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, at his press conference on Tuesday.

The PM noted that they are studying the respective track-record of various countries.

“There are no limitations for me in the fight against corruption,” Pashinyan said. “There shall be an as strong as possible and as effective as possible [anticorruption] body [in Armenia]. But having a mechanism of counterbalances and mutual constrictions is a very important precept.”

The premier recalled that, in many cases, very successful reform projects have failed solely because those behind them had rushed into implementing them as quickly as possible.

“Consistency is the speed,” added Nikol Pashinyan. “We [Armenia] need to go forward in a very thoughtful way and with slow steps, so that there will be no need to go back.”
